Dear Friends of Malashock Dance,
As we close out 2025, I write with both gratitude and anticipation. This has been a transformational year for Malashock Dance, defined by bold new programming, a deeper connection with our community, and a renewed understanding of how essential dance is to the well-being of all people. Your contribution during this season of giving will ensure our work can continue.
Malashock Dance launched innovative new programs that are gaining national attention, and we are looking forward to a groundbreaking year in 2026.
- Professional Development Programs offer learning experiences for artists and arts administrators at every phase of their career, including workshops, internships, space grants, and more. Together, we strengthen our whole dance ecosystem.
- Artistic Commissions pay under-resourced San Diego-based choreographers and nationally recognized choreographers to create work with our stellar Company of professional dancers.
- San Diego NeuroDance supports individuals living with neurological conditions and their loved ones. The outpouring of joy, relief, and connection from participants has affirmed what we’ve always known: dance is not a luxury. It is a lifeline.
- Free In-school Programs for Youth ensure students have the opportunity to experience high-quality arts experiences as part of their school day.
- On-site Classes offer training for every body, every age, and every brain. Over 800 individuals took classes in our space in 2025!
With this growth comes a pressing need. Many traditional arts funding sources continue to shrink, even as demand for our programs increases. To sustain our work, we must raise critical operating support before the end of the year.
When you give to Malashock Dance, you are uplifting artists at every stage of their careers, nurturing young students, expanding access to arts-based wellness programs, and investing in a more creative and connected San Diego.
A gift of any size reflects your belief in the power of the arts to transform lives.
With Gratitude,
Christopher K. Morgan, Artistic Director
Molly Puryear, Executive Director
Kaely Garred, Operations Director
