Malashock Dance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The Board of Directors of Malashock Dance exists to ensure that the organization has the resources, tools, strategy, and oversight needed to succeed at its mission to illuminate dance as an invaluable part of the human experience.
Board Member Roles:
The Board – as a body and each of its members– has three primary roles:
Fiduciary Oversight: Each board member is responsible for ensuring that all assets of Malashock Dance are being used in accordance with the stated goals of the organization, and that financial and operational policies are aligned with and adhere to state and federal guidelines.
Advocacy and Resource Development: The most critical function of the entire board and each individual member is to ensure that the organization has adequate resources to fulfill its vision and purpose. Through making connections with potential supporters, active fundraising, public advocacy, volunteer activity, and personal financial contribution, each member agrees to contribute to the resource development activities needed to run the operations and programs of Malashock Dance. Leverage your personal and professional networks to connect MDC with businesses and organizations that may be viable sponsors or partners.
Maintain a Functioning, Effective Board of Directors: Each board member is responsible for ensuring that the organization is effectively carrying out its mission. We ensure a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance.
