“You Are Here/Usted Está Aquí” incorporates oral history interviews into the soundtracks of a suite of solo dance performances. These heartfelt and poignant dances artfully illustrate our neighbors’ stories in meaningful ways. ENVZN24 is the first site for this project, which will continue throughout the fall during a residency at the San Diego Airport.
The project will launch with collaborations at the ENVZN24 festival in Logan Heights in September 2024. As the project expands to additional communities over time a series of solo dances will accumulate that can also be performed in theaters as well as non-proscenium spaces, all increasing community accessibility.
