Malashock Dance presents CONVERGENCE, an interactive live dance and music performance designed to captivate audiences. Choreographers John Malashock and Jessica Rabanzo-Flores collaborate with guitarist Rann Golamco to create a work that explores the plurality of individual identity, and how we exist as a blend of our own ancestry, culture, and personal choices. The choreography and music will be performed by five members of the Malashock Dance Company, accompanied by Golamco on guitar. CONVERGENCE confronts how we see ourselves versus how others see us, and who we are versus who we want to be. There is a raw, yet vulnerable, quality to the work, as it reveals how identity can be the source of both our strengths and our insecurities. The work will break down barriers between audience and performer and offer 360-degree observation of the dance. Depending on where the audience member is standing, they will see different perspectives of the dance works.
