ABOUT MALASHOCK DANCE

The mission of Malashock Dance is to illuminate the power of dance as an invaluable part of the human experience. It is a gathering place for artists to create new work, connect with audiences, and offer unique educational opportunities. We believe dance belongs to everyone.

Since 1988 Malashock Dance has been an active contributor to the vibrancy of San Diego’s cultural life. Under the Artistic Direction of Christopher K. Morgan, Malashock Dance facilitates programs that serve the community through its professional Company, Education programs, and commitment to professional development opportunities that strengthen our dance ecosystem.

The Company’s impressive track record includes the performance of 100 original dance works, and is in its 35th consecutive Season of producing original modern dance performances. Malashock Dance serves as a platform for early, mid, and established dance-makers to work with the Company and engage with our local, regional, and national dance community.

Malashock Dance’s Education programs include a thriving school for individuals of all ages and abilities to participate in classes and workshops year-round. It’s community programs work in partnership with schools and institutions throughout San Diego to support life-long learning through the art of dance.

Malashock Dance’s professional development programs foster community and uplift collective wisdom, where resources, knowledge, and creative space are available for artistic growth and development at any career stage.
