Scholarship Program

The Malashock Dance School Scholarship Program was launched by a $25,000 challenge gift from The Fieldstone Foundation presented at the 2nd annual Malashock Thinks You Can Dance! event fundraiser in September, 2008.  Since that time, over 60 need-based and merit-based scholarships have been awarded to students ages 3 and up.  The total amount given is over $13,000.

Although we exceeded our Year 1 goal to award 50 scholarships to deserving students, to date we have only raised an additional $6,500.  In order to ensure the continued success of the Scholarship Program, we encourage our community to join the vision and generosity of The Fieldstone Foundation in making a gift that will impact hundreds of deserving students throughout San Diego and beyond.

PROGRAM GOALS
Year 1

  • Match the Fieldstone Foundation Scholarship Grant of $25,000
  • Establish a Restricted Scholarship Fund
  • Award 50 scholarships to deserving students ages 3-adult


Year 2

  • Raise an additional $50,000 for the Scholarship Fund
  • Award 75 scholarships totaling to deserving students ages 3-adult


Year 3

  • Raise an additional $75,000 for the Scholarship Fund
  • Award 100 scholarships to deserving students ages 3-adult
  • Develop a student mentorship program
  • Develop an Alumni program
  • Establish an Alumni performance showcase (including fundraising opportunities)
  • Establish an Alumni giving program
