Position: Malashock Dance School Administrator

Job Description:

Malashock Dance seeks a self-motivated, highly-organized individual to assist in the coordination, and implementation of the classes, workshops and activities of the Malashock Dance School. Programs include, but are not limited to: weekly classes, student performances, summer dance camps for children, summer intensive programs, and master classes. The ideal candidate will have experience in dance: teaching and performing formally or informally; coordinating events and programs; working in dance studio or similar setting; and customer service. Candidates must have references, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, and capacity to learn the school’s software and database programs.  This position reports directly to the Executive Director.

This position is part-time (15 – 20 hours per week). Hours are flexible, but applicants must be available Monday – Friday 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and able to assist at evening and weekend performances as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Education Program Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of the School.

  • Facilitate and attend school-related workshops, programs, and events including preparation, set-up and clean-up.
  • Assess and evaluate classes based on formal and informal observation, feedback from parents and students, performance review, and/or program evaluation.
  • Coordinate, plan, and schedule weekly classes, annual workshops, and Master Classes
  • Oversee administrative aspects of the school, including registration and tuition
  • Supervises school-related work-study students and interns
  • Contributes content and distributes school eblasts and Malashock Dance monthly newsletters
  • Processes all school income (cash, checks, credit cards)
  • Manages box office and merchandise sales during School performances
  • Manages studio maintenance
  • Promote a positive interest in dance by being an enthusiastic role model and facilitating learning.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule including weekends and/or occasional nights
  • Perform other duties as assigned
