Laura Karlin (Artistic Director, Invertigo Dance Theatre) founded Invertigo in 2007 with the aim of creating a vibrant dance institution in Los Angeles. She choreographs for the company and works to make Invertigo a lively presence in LA through performance, education, outreach and collaboration. Her choreography “sweeps you up with wild abandon, slick partnering, and sensitive storytelling” (LA Weekly) and she “challenges the imaginations and stirs the emotions. . . with some kickass movement thrown in” (Bitter Lemons LA). When she’s not in the Invertigo office or rehearsal room, she can be found teaching Dancing Through Parkinson’s and Invert/ED classes, in the garden growing food, in the kitchen cooking food, or in the world traveling and camping.Posted at March 5th, 2016 by Whitney Laurent.
