MALASHOCK DANCE has been designated an Official Cause for the upcoming Everywon San Diego 1/2 Marathon and 5k.
San Diego, CA – July 15, 2016 Everywon, a new community improvement fundraising platform has chosen MALASHOCK DANCE as one of its Official Causes. Everywon supports up to 21 local causes in each city where it hosts events. The inaugural San Diego event features Half Marathon and 5k distances on December 11, 2016. The race course will weave through key Downtown destinations, including Little Italy, Balboa Park, and the East Village.
Each participant in the event commits to raising at least $100, which is divided equally among all of the local causes. Every dollar participants raise above the initial $100 goes directly to their chosen cause. 100% of funds raised benefit the San Diego nonprofit community.
“We are excited to partner with Everywon,” said Molly Puryear, Managing Director of Malashock Dance. “It’s a great chance to engage people in healthy activities, and that complements our vision for a healthy, active, and creative community that moves together. We are so grateful for this opportunity to make an even bigger impact on deserving students and communities that lack access to the performing arts.”
“I have always believed in the power of movement to transform lives,” said Tom Huston, the Founder and CEO of Everywon, Inc. “Only as a team can we truly succeed. I am excited to bring the Everywon concept to San Diego, which already has a great health and fitness oriented culture.”
Training programs are available for the 5k and ½ marathon distances to help experienced runners and walkers or novices.
Interested participants can sign up to be part of the MALASHOCK DANCE team at everywon.org.
